Well the last week has been wintery to say the least!  We have had snow squalls all week.  Lots of road closures and I even missed 2 days of work because of them!  So we went from having no snow to finally having some good old winter weather.  I was beginning to think that it was never going to come.  Well lets get at 'er and take a look at the past week.

Blowing snow - looking from the front of the house to the road.

Looking back at the barn.

Well the snow plow took care of our mailbox so I went out and got another one.  Addie made a "Mail Truck" outta the box.  Her and Graydon have fun with it running around the house.  She expects to receive mail in it every day! LOL

Side view of the mail truck - notice the mail slot at the back on the top.

Leanne's pot roast we did on the wood stove on Wednesday when we were all home due to road closures.

Looking out after the wind stopped howling.

View down the driveway.

The wind was blowing so hard that it blew snow all over in the hay loft.  Here's a better look at it - Video

Graydon got a hair cut like daddy's

Me blowing the driveway out with the blower.  Am I ever glad I got that with the drifts we get.  Don't think the Holaris and the Plow would quite cut it.

Another pic of the blowing snow.  I put reflective markers along the driveway so I can see were to blow.

The old blower looks like it's smoking.

Addie and Graydon having a "Monkey and Princess tea party

Leanne and the Kiddo's tobogganing down the gang way

Molly and Shirley soaking up some sun.  Here's a couple short video's of them I put together - Video

The Rink.  Used the Tractor and Blower to clear the snow off it then re-flooded it.  Starting to take shape. Here's a look while I'm flooding it - Video

Molly and Shirley relaxing by the barn.
Well I guess that gets us up to speed.  Ciao for now.

Monday January 5th, 2015

Well it's been a couple weeks and we had a busy but fun and Awesome Christmas and New Year Holidays.  Was awesome being home this year as I have missed way to many Holidays traveling for work.  Glad we made the decision to move so I could stay at home; really makes me appreciate the Holidays even more.  Christmas Morning was fun opening presents and watching the kiddo's bounce around.  Ended the day with The Outlaw's and Leanne's Grandma Beth coming for dinner.  One of the best Christmas's I can remember. Got some traveling in on boxing day to visit with Leanne's Family for Christmas and then down to Wheatley to have Christmas with my Family on the 27th. My Sister Joanna and her husband Mark did a great job Hosting!!  Thanks again for being great Hosts and putting us all up for the night!!

Not to much on the Barn front still the same.  I move the pigs to the back of the barn so the Stalls will be open if I get any response to my horse boarding ad - http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1024826367

Yesterday I built an ice ring out in the back yard ... turned out ok but last evening as i was filling it we got a bunch of snow squalls.  So I have to finish filling it  but now I have slush and a bumpy surface.  I'm hoping it'll stop in the next day or so and I'll have to see if I can fix it up.  Think I have a bit of a challenge on my hands!

To start off here is a Barn Tour I made.  Give you a quick view of the barn.  Let me know what you think!

Addie and her Furby - the most annoying thing in the world (the Furby I mean! LOL) - yes even more annoying than The Warden!  Santa I got my eye on you for this one.

Christmas Day Dinner - Left to Right as the faces show:
Leanne, Addie, Graydon, Me, Grandma Beth, Jim, Deb

All of us ready to go to The Outlaws for dinner on Boxing Day.

My Family - Left to Right as the Faces Show:
Me, Graydon, Leanne, Addie, Sophia, Jade, Joanna, Amanda, Audrey, Evan, Spencer, Mom, Sarah, Arley, Brandon, Easton - Missing is Mark he didn't trust the timers on the cameras! LOL

Graydon Rocking out

The Fam Jam out in the barn on New Year Day.

The Drifted in Ice Rink.  Think I have a lot of work cut out to get the rink with some good ice.  The box in the middle is were the fire pit is in the back yard.  If I get the ice good I think I'll put the pit back in and have a fire in the centre of the rink!  Hopefully make it cozy while we skate.

Chow for now.

Well first off I have to appoligize for the tardiness of my post - Thanks to Frank for waking me up! LOL  It has been a crazy ~3 weeks.  I think if I could sum it all up in one word it would have to be "sick".  I think we all got sick at least twice and it seemed to hang on.  Luckly and fingers crossed we all seem pretty good heading into the Holidays.  So without further adieu heres a quick catch up.

The Warden has started working with Libro Credit Union as a Small Business Representative.  She is really enjoying the role and is a lot happier with the role and employer than her last one.

Graydon after a bath one night - getting some "ogurt"

Addie with "Sam" who is filling in for Chippy our elf on the shelf.  Sam is a elf in training and he did a great job! Chippy was lost in a secret mission with Santa but eventually came back.

Chippy's back and keeping an eye on us!

Addie taking a face off at one of her hockey games.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  The night we started decorating.  Apparently you can't let The Warden and the Kiddo's put all the ornaments on the front side LOL  the tree fell over the next morning.  So I tied it back and they did a great job re decorating the tree that night.

Addie's Uncle Doug meets her at the bus with Dillion from time to time.  She loves going for rides on him!

Addie and Graydon got to meet Santa at the daycare.  Graydon wasn't to sure about old St Nick so he wouldn't go near him. LOL

Graydon playing on some hay out in the barn.

Graydon and I at Addie's school Christmas Concert.  It was a great show.

Addie in the concert.  Not a great pic but Addie is the one in the white skirt and black top in the centre.

Well that's it for now will try and keep you a little more updated in the future! Cheers.

Well I haven't got a lot of pics for the last week but it was a productive one.  Got a hay feeder made out of a pallet and some odds and ends that I had in the Garage.  I also mucked out the barn and did some organizing (it needs a lot more!).  Trapped a stray Cat and relocated him.  Got to blow some more snow, however it has all since melted but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there is more to come!  I helped uncle Doug get some hay and he in turn helped me pick up a Beautiful antique dresser that Leanne's parents picked up for us from a auction. So all and all it was a pretty good week ... now on to a few pics.

The Hay Feeder for Shirley and Molly.

Shirley had no problem figuring it out and using it.  Now hopefully there won't be so much wasted hay on the ground!

The Stray Cat ... Should have seen the fur on the ground in the barn after he fought one of the barn cats.  Now I know where they get the saying "should have seen the fur fly" from.  Nice looking cat and nice to me but I got too many so he went for a ride and I dropped him off in a new area.

Our cat from Wheatley - Major.  She's our mud room cat.  Great cat just sheds way to much to have in the house so she has a cozy little spot in our mud room.

Snow last Thursday morning.

Addie out waiting for the bus.

Addie is loosing her teeth right now and has a hilarious front tooth that just about sticks straight out. It's so funny to watch her talk.

Out back - our round pen.

Looking West

My Favorite Pic so far ... looking off my back step.  I think there's a reason Winter is my favourite season ... pretty hard to get a pic like that in the summer.  Until next time; Take'r Easy - But Take Her. Cheers.

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Well another productive couple weeks.  Been busy trying to keep ahead of old man winter but he's coming quick.  Glad we got all the wood in the house when it was still warm out!

Went and got 30 bales of hay for Shirley and Molly and 22 more bales of straw.  Couldn't fit anymore in the old heavy chevy! One more load like that and I should be set for the winter.

Graydon heading out to the barn one morning to help me with the chores.

Well decided I need a place to park the Tractor and it's implements for the winter so I framed up a temporary lean to on the side of the sea can.  I covered it with tarps but am finding out that we get hammered with heavy winds here and I'm not sure how long the tarps will hold up.  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Graydon coming out with his tool kit to help me with the lean to.

The drive into work last Friday morning.  Woke up to 8" of snow.  Apparently I leave before the plows get out.  I broke trail for a good part of the drive into work.

Dillon all dressed up for the Exeter Santa Clause Parade

This past weekend my nephew Spencer came out and helped me with some work around the farm.  He did a great job using the pitch fork in the cow's pen.

Loved blowing snow with the tractor - he hopes there is a lot of snow next time he visits!

He helped me build a feed trough for the pigs.

He had a busy morning with me and then went and watched Addie play hockey in the afternoon.

After while they were at hockey I enjoyed a Tomiko Moose Milk!
